He learned quite young to be “just me”

Being a Mother
Takes so much time........
Trying to keep everything in line......
How they do it, I have no idea...........
Parts of it seems, surreal!

They smile and chat and look just so...
And more than not, they're on the go...
The years go by and they exclaim.......
My goodness she's grown and changing her name!

I salute them all each and everyone.....
For without them life wouldn't be much fun.....
Who wants to grow up without a hug......
Without a fuss for grease on the rug.....
Without a smack while running out the door.....
They do it all and so much more!

So Cindee dear .....
Be of good cheer...
You may be the one needing the rest....
And Christian just knew what was best.!

Kindergarten Graduate
May 19, 2006

This is a big step for me…
Going to First Grade you see…
I’m a little shy and a little frightened..
But most of all, this day is exciting…

When I step upon the stage a new beginning is being made.
I know more about myself, what I can do, I have a clue.
I learned to play with many friends,
I learned to think for myself…
I learned to follow directions as I am told…
I learned to lead and follow and even be bold!

I learned to do homework and memorize words..
Just listen to me….I can quote scripture and be heard…
I learned I can be creative…that I am unique
There is just one Maria and that is so sweet!

I can see how proud my Mom and Dad are…
I see it in their eyes….even from this far!
They love me so much, they listen to my fears…
Even when I’m worried, they wipe my tears.

They cook the most wonderful meals
So I will grow up and be strong for real
They have taught me to be kind
And loving to all
For when I do this I’m having a ball!

So thanks Mom and Dad and even Christian too
For loving me so and knowing what to do!

Who Is This Person?

She shoots straight as an arrow…and not from the hip!
She overlooks your ignorance and doesn’t give a rip
She cares not what you do o or how you look just so
She relates to your heart, for hers is made of gold
She knows how to lead with incredible strength..
And when she competes …she give a cute wink.
She can multi-task with the best….
And encourage all the rest….!
She can take the time……With just you in mind…!
She thinks globally with big ideas….
And comes up with possibilities that are quite real
She knows just what to do…
When others seem not to have a clue!
For any one individual she would walk a mile….
And carry your load in a fashionable style!
She has a countenance that follows with grace
For she knows deep inside that she has found her place
Her spot her niche…. whether mom or wife
She can do all quite well and without any strife
Let’s say she believes in what she does
In who she meet as onward she trots.
She shares her talents, there are many, not a few
Once you have her attention, she knows just what to do!

Why They Don’t Want To Leave

How do you create such a place
Where Children have their special space
Where Love flows through the walls
Making a “Whole” for big and small

It abounds every where
I’m special when I am here
I am loved in a unique way
That is why I love to stay

There is no criticism --- only a voice to guide
To gently lead or walk beside
I’m happy - I’m carefree - I’m safe -
When I step foot in this place

There are so many choices to make…
All for me …..to help me learn
To guide me….to help me discern
How to live and how to love
With this nurturing --- sent from above…

Yes , I am one of the fortunate few..
To learn about life from these two..
I can sense a peace, I don’t fully understand
I do know being here is just very grand!

The Fowlers’ Awesome Adventure

What a sight to see………
Finally…the arrival of all 3.
The scenario began innocently enough….
Cindee, Maria and Christian were very tough…
For they survived the endurance of a long,long trip…
That would cause less of a person to lose their grip.
The smiles were there …the satisfaction showed…
The children had done, as they had been told….
The effort was made to make all they endured,
A challenging success….with thoughts very secure…
Self reliance was learned as they shared their fate…
We can handle these airports…we’ll just relate…
They busied themselves with familiar tasks…
Not a tear was shed…..no need to even ask….

The appreciation Carr and I could feel….
Is difficult to express……..Obviously these Fowlers were real…
These guests will get our best ……
We’ll go Everywhere….. And get our rest….
And so the visit began…just wait ‘til I tell you the end!
This won’t be in order for me, you see…
To think sequentially…. isn’t my history…

Step back for a moment and realize….
We are educators with no children…so you can surmise…
The adjustment to having children here just so….
Was fun to plan as we went on the go…
What would they like???…..what would we do…??
Do they want toys or a new pair of shoes?
What should we do about food…???
What do they eat?.... without crying boohoo!!!

Comfort and games became the # 1 goal!

We’ll make sure they are comfy and have lots to do..
So they won’t be sad ever……. and not ever blue…
Carr bought a blowup bed just so….
How about a sleeping bag….????... Let’s go…!
Here’s a game….here’s a toy…This is fun to plan…oh boy!!

Where we were and what we did:

The Smoky Mountain National Park….
With its hiking trails …..(before dark)
The nature trail, waterfalls and welcome center…
Provided a pleasant place to enter…!
In Cades Cove we saw bears, (no lion & tigers in sight)…
The deer were so cute….and the turkeys, just right…
Don’t forget our picnics….there were two…
We love the mountains……YA..HOO!!!
The Chimney is the name of a mountain shaped just so.
With a picnic area and boulders quite bold..
Not a problem for these Fowlers….just climb on that rock…
What’s a little dip in the river….a slip now and then.
Haven’t had so much fun….can’t remember when…
Dollywoods’… Kids’ Fest… Imagination!…. so much to see!
We have to return…..so many things were free…
…All went well and we had a great time…
Even the vegetables were mighty fine..
Cloggers and pickin’ made quite a show.
The sky ride…the dancing….we were on the go!!
Ripley’s Aquarium… biggest in the USA
Learned so much….even got to touch live???


Allen won’t miss next Father’s Day.
You too need to relax and play….
You are invited again …
(Hope your work doesn’t win.).
We want you here too…
So Carr will know just what Fathers’ do..
